ABBIE Sheridan secured another victory for her club Ardee & District when finishing a comfortable winner of the Girls U-17 3,000m at the Glenmore AC Juvenile Cross-Country races in Bush on Sunday.

Also running well on the day were member of the dedicated McCarron family. Rebecca and Samantha competed in the U-15 2,000m, Jessica displayed good pace in the U-11 800m, Jack won a fifth-place medal in the U-13 1500m and Dylan came seventh in the U-11 800m.

Ardee & District’s Under-9 Boys were out in force this week, with Alex Callan, Tom Joe McCormack, Daniel Cirdei, Finn Osbourn and Oran Lynch all in action, and some impressive running saw Tom Joe nipped at the line for 10th place but Alex managed to take home a ninth-place medal.

Meanwhile, a few miles up the road in Co Armagh, seven of the Ardee seniors took on the Forkhill 10k challenge, namely Ben Corcoran, Shane Carroll, Brian Duff, Leo Farrell, Peter Carolan, Dave Symmons and Liam Smith.

All ran exceptionally well in this tough, hilly and most challenging course and Shane came home in second place overall.
