Vadim’s images are praised by judges
THE annual Celtic Challenge photography international between 5 Celtic countries Scotland, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, Wales North, Republic of Ireland and Wales South was held in Newtownards, Northern Ireland at the weekend. Each country had to submit their best 10 colour prints, 10 monochrome prints and 10 digital projected images. The judge for the international was Robert Millin from UK.
Vadim Lee from the Drogheda Photographic Club had 2 colour images in the Republic of Ireland panel and each of his images scored a maximum 20 out of 20.
The judge commented that the standard of all the colour prints was outstanding and as high as he had ever seen. The republic of Ireland team ended up getting the top team score in the colour prints with Vadim’s image Apple Thief announced as the judges’ best colour print choice. In the Monochrome section Ross Mc Kelvey of Northern Ireland was awarded the top image while Malahide photographer Marek Biegalski was Malahide was awarded the top Digital Projected image award.
When the best image award of the international was announced Vadim’s image Apple Thief was deemed a worthy winner. Northern Ireland was deemed the overall winners of the international with Southern Ireland a close second place. Other Drogheda Photographic Club members who represented Republic of Ireland were John Butler, Judy Boyle, Des Clinton, Joe Curtis and Gabriel O Shaughnessy.
