We, at the Ferrard Day Centre would like to ask you, if you know anybody with any musical talents who would be willing to entertain our group for an hour ANY Wednesday NOT every Wednesday morning. Our members really love the bit of music and some of them can belt out a tune as good as the next man (or woman) the tin whistle, mouth organ, spoons, dancing dolls, are all there to be enjoyed by all, a bit of dancing, tell a story etc. Just let me or anyone you know who is at the centre and we will take it from there. CARROLLS OF THE WOOD - DUNLEER AND DISTRICT HISTORICAL SOCIETY
In addition to lecture referred to below, Dunleer and District Historial Society will also be hosting a lecture on Wednesday 14th November given by Donal Hall, entitled “When the guns went silent - The end of The Great War and County Louth “
On Thursday 25th October, D&DHS will host a lecture given by Society member, James Donegan on the Carroll family who lived and farmed at Woodpark, Dunleer. The lecture will focus on generations of the family who lived at “The Wood.”
The last member of the Carroll family living at Woodpark - Nancy, who is remembered for her award winning drama productions - died on 8th June 1990.
The lecture should prove to be of great interest to people from Dunleer and Mid Louth area and takes place at 8.00pm in St. Brigid’s Hall, Dunleer. All welcome.
