Grove Rangers looking at a return to their Rathmullen home

-

GROVE Rangers Boys and Girls Soccer Club are delighted with their recent successful application for grant aid through The Community Enhancement Programme.

The club received €10,000 which will go towards the renovation and maintenance of the Rathmullan Park playing field and the repair of containers for dressing rooms.

Rathmullan was Grove’s home pitch for many years and they are looking forward to a return in the near future.

The club would like to thank Louth County Council and the Local Community and Development Committee (LCDC) who awarded the grant.

Grove would also like to take this opportunity to say a sincere thanks to Councillor Paul Bell for his support over many months. Councillor Bell advocated on Grove’s behalf and his advice throughout the application process proved invaluable.

‘ Work on the field will commence in the coming weeks. It is hoped that as well as providing opportunities for local boys and girls to play soccer in the Drogheda and District leagues, the upgrade will enhance this area of the local community,’ a spokesperson stated.

Grove Rangers cater for boys and girls aged 5yrs-17yrs.

‘New players are always welcome. We are currently looking for boys for our U15 team (born in 2004-2005). Please contact the club chairman Brendan Gregory on 0876958126 for further details.’
