Summer Lawless gets Leinster call

WELL done to Duleek’s Summer Lawless (right). The young goalkeeper, who has made a big impression with the Drogheda ETP squad in advance of next year’s Kennedy Cup, has just been included in the under 15 Leinster Interprovincial squad.

No pressure Summer, but if this girl is not capped for Ireland by the time she’s 18 there’s something wrong with the selectors!

It also shows that the ETP system works at a local level and that’s what the FAI should be investing in, rather than promoting an under 13 National League.

Let young promising players stay with their teams and mates and develop that way.
