Joseph Reynolds and life in a WWI sub­ma­rine

THE death oc­curred in the early 70s of Joseph Reynolds from Morn­ing­ton, who worked as the pi­lot with Drogheda Port for many years.

What a life he had - At the age of 14, he signed on as a sea­man on the “Colleen Bawn,” trad­ing then to and from Drogheda. Af­ter­wards he joined the Navy in World War I and served on sub­ma­rine duty.

His brother, Freddy, went down on a blaz­ing ship called ‘ The Mon­mouth’. Was his sub­ma­rine adventures ever told I won­der?
