Fighting for Moneymore

-

THE surprise Moneymore resident going forward for the Drogheda Borough Council elections in the West Gate Ward is father of 11 Willie Fitzpatrick, the Drogheda Independent can today reveal.

Mr Gallagher, in making his announcement, launched a hardhitting attack on the sitting twelve elected councillors whom he accused of having ‘deceived’ and ‘ betrayed’ the people of Moneymore over the right of way between Moneymore and Brookville.

It is pure frustration and anger over this issue and the bad image which is being projected of Moneymore estate, he says, that has prompted him to throw his hat into the ring. Never involved in politics before he is ‘incensed’ over the right of way issue. ‘ As far as I am concerned it is an absolute disgrace. The Borough Council has not listened to the people of Moneymore and if elected at least I will be a voice in that chamber,’ he said.

Mr Fitzpatrick, a resident ol Moneymore for the last 20 years, feels that Moneymore has been treated very badly by the Borough Council and is also concerned over the bad press the estate has been receiving.
