Jurisdiction refused over alleged assault on garda

JURISDICTION has been refused by the district court in an assault case where it is alleged a garda sergeant suffered a broken finger and lost a knuckle.

Karl Forrestal (27), The Bakehouse, Church Street, Dundalk, is accused of assault causing harm on the M1 Northbound, Drogheda, on 19 December, 2016.

The matter was adjourned to 15 February for a book of evidence. Legal aid was granted.
