Girl Guides from Galway visit the Bakehouse

-

Girl Guides from Galway were thrilled to visit East Coast Bakehouse on the Donore Road, to meet Dragon’s Den investor Alison Cowzer and see where Irish Girl Guides (IGG) cookies are made.

The girls from Merlin Woods unit won the trip to Ireland’s biggest biscuit factory by selling more packets of Girl Guides cookies during IGG’s inaugural National Cookie Month than any other unit in the country. 1,560 packets in total!

Their reward was a trip to Drogheda and they certainly enjoyed the experience.

Alison, who co-founded East Coast Bakehouse and is mentoring members of IGG in their cookie-selling initiative, was so impressed by Merlin Woods’ successful sales that she invited the Galway girls to visit the Bakehouse.
