James Jordan of RB Daly served in Great War
WE regret to record the death, which occured unexpectedly yesterday ( Wed) of Mr. James Jordan. “Clovelly,” Dublin Road. Drogheda.
The deceased gentleman, who was born in Kilkenny in 1896 came to Drogheda in 1902 and was by profession an auctioneer being a senior director of Robt. B. Daly and Son Ltd., Laurence St.
During the first world war he saw service with the Royal.Dublin Fusiliers and retired with the rank of Captain.
A most popular man, he was involved with the Drogheda Operatic Society and took part in their productions for many years.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jane Jordan, his son, Mr. James Jordan: his daughter. Mrs Lewis Garvey; brothers Messrs. William, Victor and George Jordan.
The Church Service will take place in St. Peter’s Church on Peter St. on Friday at 2 p.m.
