Christmas Lights to be switched on this Friday

-

DROGHEDA will be lighting up for Christmas at a very special ceremony in West Street this Friday.

All are welcome to come along as the streets will sparkle with some Fabulous Festive Family Fun, at the steps of St Peter’s Church between 5.30pm and 7pm.

There will be a free 12 day of Christmas draw with some amazing spot prizes, plus there will be entertainment to suit all ages and tastes.

Making their public debut will be Drogheda latest singing sensations, ‘Voices of the Boyne’.

This all-female choir was only formed in September and would love your support as they sing some festive tunes to suit the occasion. A true community choir, the 80-strong group was organised by Louise Mahony from The Red Door Project, with Claire Brogan the musical director.

“I am so delighted with the wonderful interest and fantastic women that have joined,” says Louise, who is also a member of the choir. “Claire is amazing, and this choir will be support and fun for many, many years.”

Kelly Kierans is MC for the switching-on ceremony, and all are welcome to celebrate our community coming together for Christmas and beyond...
