Oliver Plunketts open their new clubhouse

THE new Clubhouse of the Oliver Plunketts will be officially opened by the GAA President John Horan on Sunday, 25th November and this will be followed by a challenge match between old rivals Meath and Louth.

This will an opportunit­y for both sides to lay our their stalls for the upcoming competitiv­e season with the O’Byrne Cup and National League just around the corner. A big crowd is anticipate­d to be present to sample what both Managers are thinking and the new panels have to offer. The Plunketts are grateful to both teams for agreeing to participat­e.

Duleek road race

THE Duleek and District AC 5k road race takes place on Sunday February 24 at 1pm.

EM Production­s put on Aladdin

East Meath Production­s are putting on their fifth production at the Droichead Arts Centre from December 5-9th for six shows.

Aladdin is the story being told this time and the tickets are selling fast. There’s a big cast and they’ve been working hard for the past number of months. Tickets are €15.50 from the Droichead Arts Centre. 0419833946.

Confirmati­on for Scoil Aonghusa is on Wednesday May 1 in St Peter’s Church. On Thursday, June 13, it’s St Joseph’s CBS and Scoil Oilibheir Naofa in the Lourdes Church and Friday June 14, Presentati­on and Aston Village ET in the Lourdes Church.

St Mairtin’s craft fair

THE annual craft fair of the 14th St Martin’s Scourt Group will be held on Sunday November 25 in the Special Olympics Club at Crosslanes from 11am to 5pm. Free entry. Great selection of items on show and ideal for Christmas. All welcome.

Dominican mass

THE Dominican Church will host a mass of remembranc­e on Sunday November 25 at noon.

The mass will remember all those who have passed away and also recall the soldiers and those that died in WWI.

After the mass, the congregati­on are invited to cast flowers and wreaths into the Boyne from St Dominick’s Bridge.

Knock bus

All night vigil in Knock for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Bus leaves on Friday evening December 7 at 6pm. Booking at St Peter’s sacristy or 0863185279. Fare is €20.

Coffee morning

A Coffee Morning/Cake Sale/Crafts takes place at Drogheda Community Services Centre, Scarlet Crescent, Drogheda on Friday, 30th November 2018 from 10am to 12pm in aid of the Day Care Centre. Admission €2.00. Everyone welcome.

Slane history talk

Slane History and Archaeolog­y Society present a talk entitled “A History of the Townland of Cullen, Slane, up to 1900” on Thursday, November 22nd. It will be given by Eddie Fleming and will cover the occupancy of the townland and the changing relationsh­ips between landlord and tenant. The venue is the Slane Youth Cafe, Chapel St, Slane, starting at 8pm. Parking available and all are very welcome.

Remembranc­e mass

A Remembranc­e Mass for the deceased members of Louth Civil Defence will be held in St. Brigids hall Dunleer on Wednesday 21st November at 8pm. Tea and catch up with old friends afterwards.

Mulled win at the Lifeboat

The annual Mulled Wine & Mince Pie reception will take place Sunday 25th November at Clogherhea­d Lifeboat Station, 2 – 5pm.

To kick off the Christmas festive season, Clogherhea­d RNLI Lifeboat Service wishes to say a big thank you for the tremendous support for the Shannon Project. We are immensely grateful for the public support & look forward to the arrival of the Shannon Lifeboat on June 2nd 2019. This is an open invitation to come to the station where crew members will conduct tours of the boat, talk about the Shannon & the lifesaving work at sea.

Tea, coffee & refreshmen­ts will be served throughout the afternoon. Everybody welcome!!

Mell wheel of fortune

A monster wheel of fortune takes place in Mell parish hall on Friday November 23 at 8pm. Prizes to suit all ages. It is a fun evening for all the family. All welcome
