Oral hearing to be held as Bettystown’s spine road gets a little bit closer

-

Local Fine Gael Councillor, Sharon Tolan (pictured) has welcomed the news that An Bord Pleanala has scheduled the Oral Hearing date for the R150 Laytown-Bettystown Spine Road Compulsory Purchase Order.

Tolan has lobbied hard for the completion of this road since she was first elected in 2014. A total of 3 objections have been received in respect of this compulsory purchase order, copies of which are available for inspection by appointment at the offices of Meath County Council.

“This is another step closer to the construction of this road. I have worked so hard over the past few years to ensure it has remained top priority for both Meath County Council and the Government. I am delighted to have received the notice from An Bord Pleanala with a date set for the Oral Hearing. I will, of course, be attending and supporting this CPO. This road is decades overdue and for the parents and children who make the daily trip to the educational campus between Laytown and Bettystown, it quite simply can’t come quick enough” Tolan said.
