Dympna to retire at the end of the year

-

I HAVE to make comment on the news last week that the principal of St John’s in Rathmullen, Dympna MacKenna, is to retire at Christmas.

Hard to believe, but Dympna is 40 years in the teaching game but she has made a huge impact in the Rathmullen area in that time and of course, the new school is the icing on the cake.

The Board of Management have said they’ll miss her and I’m sure they won’t be the only one.

There have been some great tributes to Dympna over the past few days for the legacy she has left.

She follows Mrs. Mary Toner who retired a few weeks ago.
