Oisin to talk on his life and times at special Mill evening

OISIN McGann spent his childhood in Dublin and then Drogheda, where he studied at St. Olivers Community College. Refresh Boyne and The Mill are delighted to have him back in Drogheda for the upcoming talk at 7pm on Wednesday, 28 November.

He studied at Ballyfermo­t Senior College and Dun Laoghaire School of Art and Design, and went on to work in illustrati­on, design and film animation. He now lives back in Ireland and works full time as an author and illustrato­r.

He has written and illustrate­d numerous books for all ages of reader, including the Mad Grandad series, The Forbidden Files series, and eleven novels, including The Gods And Their Machines, Small-Minded Giants, and his steampunk trilogy, The Wildenster­n Saga.

In 2014 Oisin won the European Science Fiction Society Award, given to a writer in recognitio­n of recent works. His books have been sold in the US, Canada (in French), France, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Denmark, Slovenia, Romania, Portugal, Turkey, Brazil and Japan.

Refresh Boyne is a community of designers and developers working to refresh the creative, technical, and profession­al culture of the New Media industry in the Boyne region. Refresh Boyne hold events that promote design, technology, usability and standards and is part of, and inspired, by the Refreshing Cities movement.
