Michelle welcomes €100 k boost
LABOUR’S Local Area Representative and candidate for next year’s local elections, Michelle Hall has welcomed the news that Termonfeckin is to benefit from €100,000 from the Town and Village Renewal Scheme to enhance the village.
“It’s great to see some badly needed funds being injected into the village. We live in an area of outstanding beauty and we should have the amenities to match it”, said Michelle.
The money will be to upgrade the car park at Seapoint beach. Louth County Council plan to improve the car park surface, enhance the entrance to the beach to widen access and upgrade the public lighting.
Michelle said, “There has been some great work done by the local Tidy Towns Committee and upgrading the car park will help to go towards higher points for Termonfeckin next year. I’d like to thank Louth County Council officials for securing the grant and I hope there’ll be more investment soon, to attract visitors to the region. There is such tourism potential for coastal villages and we need to look at sustainable ways to enhance the area and create jobs”.
Michelle is already campaigning for an improved Bus Eireann service which is extremely infrequent compared to East Meath’s coastal regions, where the buses run into Drogheda nearly every half hour. “I am gathering signatures for a petition to get Bus Eireann to listen to the residents of Clogherhead, Termonfeckin and Baltray. We need buses for locals and visitors alike. You can follow me on Michelle Hall Drogheda Rural on Facebook for updates on this and other local issues
