M1 to Cement Road to be new 60km/h zone
COUNCILLOR Paul Bell has welcomed the new speed limits proposed for Drogheda contained in the County of Louth Special Speed Bye Laws which will come into effect on May 1, 2019.
“I am pleased to see that the recommendations of An Garda Siochana, Transport Infrastructure Ireland and Louth County Council for the reduction of speed limits in areas identified by Councillors and members of the public will finally be addressed in the interests of public safety”. Said Bell
The major routes for speed reduction are the R167 Drogheda to Termonfeckin road reduced from 80 KMH to 50KMH either side of the Baltray Village Junction.
The North Road Drogheda speed limit is also reduced from 80KMH to 60KMH.
Waterunder/Hill of Rath Roundabout to Lynch’s Cross Junction which is earmarked to become a 60KMH zone down from 80KMH. As is the road to the Cement Road Junction.
N51 route -from a 100KMH to 80KMH between King William’s Glen and Junction 10 on the M1.
R150 route to Mornington the existing 80KPH zone will be reduced to 60 KPH just east of Flogas.
