Get behind the Drogheda Lions club Christmas appeal

-

Dear Sir,

It’s that time of year again and the Drogheda Lions club President Tomas Wilkinson is proud to announce our 2018 Christmas food appeal.

We are asking shoppers to make a big difference to somebody’s Christmas by donating a food item during the annual two-day Appeal, which will take place on Friday 7th & Saturday 8th December in Dunne’s stores West Street and South Gate .

We are hoping to build on the fantastic success of previous years. When you consider the pressure people are under at this time of year it really brings home the generosity of the Drogheda people. Having seen the difference these food hampers can make to families, we are determined to collect as much as we can this year so that we can reach as many people as possible and give them a little help this Christmas. Every item really does go a long way, be it teabags or a packet of biscuits, so please pop in and donate what you can.

During the two-day appeal, a ‘shopping list’ with suggested non-perishable food items will be available to all customers. Top of the list are tea bags, biscuits, breakfast cereals and tinned goods, with shoppers urged to add an item to their shopping basket and pop it in to the Lions Club trolley at the front of the store on their way out.

All food collected during the appeal will be used to create food hampers for people in the local community who are struggling to provide for themselves or their families. Shoppers can donate one or more of the following items: Tea bags & Instant coffee, Biscuits, Sugar, Butter, Breakfast Cereals, Tinned goods (vegetables, fruit, fish, meat), Pasta & Paste Sauces, Rice & Rice Pudding , Jam, Soft drinks, Sweet Treats, Selection Boxes, Christmas Cake.

To support the Christmas Food Appeal and give a help to local families in need, please visit Dunne’s Stores West Street or South Gate on the 7th or 8th December between 10am and 7pm. Yours, Drogheda Lions Appeal.
