Brothers depart

A MASS of Thanksgiving to commemorate the end of the Christian Brothers Order’s presence in Drogheda was held at St Joseph’s CBS last week.

Brothers Colm McMahon and Paul Manning were the final two members of the Christian Brothers to leave the town, marking the end of almost a century and a half of the Order in Drogheda.

Speeches were made by Mayor qf Drogheda, Maria O’Brien Campbell, Monsignor Donnelly, Jackie Hanratty, on behalf of the Westcourt Residents Association who presented the two brothers with gifts, Minister for Education, Noel Dempsey and current principal Peter Nolan.
