COMMUNITY ALERT

The dark evenings have well and truly set in. Please call on elderly relatives and neighbours, especially those living alone. See that they have all their needs, food, heat, light and fuel for fires and anything else that they may need. It is often difficult for the elderly to get out and about to get shopping at this time of year, you may be able to help out in this regard. Also, please make sure that all Personal Socially Monitored Alarms are working as required. You can check out their operation by pressing the pendant button, when you should get a response from personnel in the Monitoring Station within seconds.

It’s also time to make sure that Security Lighting is working correctly. Please make Community Alert a priority in the months ahead and beyond. Don’t forget to keep an eye on sheep in the area, and indeed further afield. Sheep will be lambing in no time at all, so it is important that they are not subjected to attack at any time, from dogs who are let loose unsupervised. Report anything untoward that you see in this regard to the Gardai or Community Alert immediately. Alternatively, you can contact the Dog Warden on 1890 22 84 66.
