SSE, one of Ireland’s energy utilities, is progressing in its proposal for a 208MW peaker power generation plant at Platin on land owned by SSE and in an area where industrial use has been permitted and is established.

Ahead of submitting applications for planning permission for the two separate project components to Meath County Council and An Bord Pleanála later this month, SSE is hosting a second Drop-In Public Information Event for the local community, in the Carranstown Lodge, Drogheda Road, Duleek on Wednesday December 5th between 6pm and 8pm.

This event will provide information on the refinements made to the proposal, as well as proposals for a Capital Grant Scheme to benefit the immediate local community.

The proposed development will comprise of four open cycle gas turbine units, each fully enclosed in their own housing, associated step-up grid transformer units, and a 110kV transmission substation which will connect the generation plant to the national electricity 110kV transmission system.
