Gardai investigating arson attacks on the northside
GARDAI are investigating two incidents in the early hours of last Friday morning on the northside of Drogheda.
Around 1.30am, the fire service was called to a fire at a shed in the Lia Brega estate.
It spread to two other sheds in the vicinity.
The flames and smoke from the sheds could be seen from some distance.
It is believed a strong smell of petrol was obvious at the scene.
The fire service were on site for some 90 minutes to make sure the fire was totally extinguished.
Meanwhile, there were reports of a second fire in the Moneymore estate at 3.30am.
It is believed a petrol bomb was thrown at a house. It was rapidly extinguished.
