Annual Barndance raises €30,000 for Oncology Unit

-

The Oncology Unit in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital was delighted to welcome Michael and Agnes Fox to the Unit recently, where they presented a cheque to NECRET on behalf of the Fox and Kerins Families who organize the nationally famous Kilmoon Barndance.

Speaking at the presentation where an incredible €30,000 was donated to NECRET for the purposes of Clinical Cancer Research Professor Bryan Hennessy expressed his great appreciation to the two families for their immense generosity in supporting NECRET’s cause and how without such support the major strides that were being made in advancing cancer treatments would not be possible.

The 2018 Event saw a total of €74,800 donated also to various other charities with the Oesophageal Cancer Fund (receiving €15,000) and Meath Palliative Care, Prosper Meath (Special Needs), SOSAD, Brother Kevin’s Capuchin Centre and Meath River Rescue (each receiving €5,000).

The Laffey Trust and RNLI Clogherhead received €4,000 and €800, respectively.

NECRET and the Oncology Unit in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital invite those currently or previously attending the Unit to their Annual Service of Hope on Friday December 14th at 1pm in the Westcourt Hotel.
