Drogheda Independent - - COMMUNITY NEWS -

THERE’S no surer sign that the yuletide season is upon us than the start of St. Peter’s Male Voice Choir’s well-loved series of Christmas concerts.

This year the choir and musical director Edward Holly are delighted to announce their new show “Ring those Christmas Bells”, which will be performed in St. Peter’s R.C. Church, West Street on Friday, 7th December, 2018 at 8 p.m. and in the Barbican Centre, William Street on Saturday, 8th December, 2018 at 8 p.m.

Choir PRO Anthony Moore said “The choir have had a wonderful year. We became top 10 artists for the first time when our single, “Noreen Bawn”, entered the ITunes charts at number 8 and the release of our new CD, “Happy Together” is imminent. We are now looking to cap an amazing 2018 by inviting our supporters to enter into the festive spirit with us in our new show, which has a wonderful line-up of songs. On the Friday in St. Peter’s Church we’ll be joined by a fourteen-piece orchestra and we’ll be recreating the wonderful atmosphere we had there last year. The Barbican will also be a truly special night, with a super live band. We are also privileged to have our guests Sharon Carty, mezzo soprano and the wonderful Claire Regan from Drogheda in attendance on both nights.”

Moore urged people to get their tickets for the concerts as quickly as possible, saying “A third concert, which will be held in the Droichead Arts Centre on the 15th December, is already sold out, so do make sure to book early and hear St. Peter’s Male Voice Choir at the peal of its powers. We all look forward to ringing the Christmas bells with you.”
