St Oliver’s White Ribbon

-

MEMBERS of the White Ribbon committee from St Oliver’s CC were honoured to be invited to the Men’s Development Network in conjunction with White Ribbon Ireland’s seminar on Gender Equality in Dr Steevens’s hospital on November 19th.

The students were personally addressed by Minister for Health, Simon Harris who told them that they were future leaders of our country and to take up the mantle in relation to Gender Equality.

St Oliver’s were awarded White Ribbon status two years ago prompted by the untimely rape and murder of former pupil Jill Meagher. They are actively engaged in raising awareness on ending men’s violence against women and promoting Gender Equality.

St Oliver’s are extremely grateful for the ongoing support from Soroptimists, Drogheda and look forward to co-hosting a workshop facilitated by the Rape Crisis Centre on the very important issue of consent.
