Home advantage in championship opener

-

THE Meath footballers will have home advantage when they take on Offaly in the opening round of the 2019 SFC on Sunday, May 12th.

Leinster GAA announced Pairc Tailteann as the venue after both counties agreed to a home and away arrangement at the meeting in Portlaoise. The Royals won the toss to host the first of these encounters.

The last meeting between the teams in the Leinster SFC was back in 1995 when Meath ended 1-15 to 1-5 winners at Pairc Tailteann.

If Meath overcome the challenge of the Faithful County in the lates meeting between the teams they play Carlow in a quarter final tie.

The winners of that tie take on Laois or Westmeath in a semi-final.
