Magnificent seven in action for Boyne

-

THE 2018 Louth Cross Country programme came to an end on Sunday, with the Louth Masters event.

Always an exciting race, this year was no exception, with some fantastic running across all the age categories.

Those lucky enough to be over the age of 35 were eligible to compete, with seven of Boyne AC’s senior athletes donning the yellow vest to represent their club.

In the ladies 3k race, Sally Clarke ran well to finish sixth overall. Nicola Veale had a strong run to place 11th, with Catherine Tiernan Bell not far behind in 14th.

Competing in her first Louth Cross Country race, Louise Fagan ran well to place 22nd overall.

Also making their Cross Country debut, Rosemarie Dunne finished 24th, followed closely by Olive Turner Carroll in 26th.

Unfortunately the ladies team just missed out on a medal, finishing in a fine fourth team place.

In the mens 5k race, the sole representative from Boyne AC, Andrew White, ran a strong race to finish in an impressive 10th place overall.
