THOUGHT FOR THE DAY.
Surely, liking to do something is the first step towards doing it well.
LOUTH LOOKING GOOD AWARDS 2018.
The following is a report on Gort Uaine from the recent Awards Ceremony by Louth Co. Council.
Good kerbside weed control helped your cleanliness rating but, unfortunately, the presence of quite a lot of litter throughout affected the general impact of the estate. In terms of landscaping you continue to rely on generally neatly cut grass and maturing trees provided with the estate for impact offering for some pockets of landscaping to bring added value.
The estate is clearly defined, at the entrance, by a large distinctive name stone set in a neat green area to the backdrop of maturing trees. Individual presentation varied significantly in the estate with No 36 being the stand out presentation with beaming sunflowers and radiant roses adding drama among fabulous garden plants. No 38 was also joyful in appearance with a myriad of floral displays #creating wonderful impact while others worthy of honourable mention include No’s 21, 42, 43, 47, 53, 54, 61 and 63. One house they failed to identify by number also impressed with ceramic pots high lighting the door and container planting framing the pathway. Gort Uaine hasn’t reached its full potential in environmental presentation but, hopefully, that will happen over a period of time with immediate priority being getting to grips with litter to improve the overall impact of estate.
