Mark asks Lions to help animals

-

DROGHEDA Lions Club presented Drogheda Animal Rescue with a cheque for €200 at the weekend, the money was presented by President Tomas Wilkinson and Mark Agrios from Termonfeckin, the young man who inspired the donation.

Mark attended the Lions Meeting with his mother, Marian in November when the Lions Christmas donations were being discussed by the members. Brave Mark (7) stood up in front of a packed room and said, ‘As we are Lions, we should support a charity that is kind and helps sick and homeless animals’. And so it was agreed.

President Tomas Wilkinson said about Mark’s charity nomination, ‘Sometimes it takes a young, thoughtful person to remind adults that we should care for all aspects of our society and Mark is just such a person. The Lions Club in Drogheda support a number of good causes in the Locality at Christmas and throughout the year and it is great to add another to the list, thanks to Mark who is definitely a Lion of the Future. His mam, Marian and Dad, Demetrios should be very proud of their son.’
