IARNRÓD Éireann has advised customers that timetable alterations to off-peak and weekend services on the Drogheda rail line will begin this weekend, on Sunday December 9th, with late night Christmas services to Dundalk from December 7th.

The alterations to the Northern Commuter comes in response to customer feedback.

Key elements of the new timetables are a significant increase in the number of off-peak and weekend services between Drogheda and Connolly.

In addition, to address feedback from customers arising from the changed schedules in September, further alterations will take place.

A number of morning Northern Commuter services will additionally serve Portmarnock, Clongriffin and Howth Junction; and one evening Northern Commuter service will additionally serve Clongriffin and Portmarnock, to balance capacity

Fares will be charged at normal rates, meaning customers can use Leapcard and buy cash fares for the best value Christmas travel option. Weekly, monthly and annual season tickets are valid on late night services, so season ticket holders will be able to use late night services at no extra charge.

Late night services will also have security personnel on board to ensure customer safety.
