Tributes to ex United chairman Joe Fay
TRIBUTES have been paid to former Drogheda United chairman and League of Ireland soccer player Joe Fay, who passed away last week.
Joe, a native of the Bull Ring and who lived in the United States and Malahide, before returning to Drogheda and Grange Rath, was buried in Calvary on Thursday last, following funeral mass in St Mary’s Church.
He was predeceased by his late patents Jemmy and Maryann and is sadly missed by his loving wife Fleurette, son Jordan, brothers Dessie and Jim, sisters Marian, Geraldine and Valerie, sisters in law Marie, Edith and Angeline, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In a statement, Drogheda United said the club was ‘deeply saddened by the passing of former Chairman Joe Fay. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.’
