Greenhills to put on a fabulous show
THE students and teachers of Our Lady’s College, Greenhills are busy preparing for this year’s Carol Service which will be held in the Augustinian church on Wednesday, December 19th at 8pm.
The choir, orchestra and trad. group will present an evening of words, music and dance, fusing the classical and the traditional in very dramatic ways.
On the night, the church will feature an installation specially designed and created by the teachers and students of the Art dept. Joined on the night by local groups, Kern and Glé Geal Gáire, the school community is also delighted to welcome special guests Dónal Lunny and Zoe Conway for what promises to be a wonderfully exuberant evening of celebration and reflection.
The exploration of peace through the theme of bridges will resonate particularly with the people of Drogheda whose town is built around a number of bridges and what better time to consider the power of connectedness than at Christmas.
Drawing on the rich cultural diversity of the young people of the school, the message presented to the community at home and abroad this Christmas is one of unity in diversity.
