Sad­ness at the death of Sr Mar­ion Therese Reynolds

THE death has taken place of Sr. Mar­ion Therese Reynolds MMM.

She was born Mary Reynolds in Dublin in 1930 and trained as a nurse be­fore join­ing MMM in 1957. Af­ter pro­fes­sion, she trained as a mid­wife and later as a pub­lic health nurse and as a chi­ropodist. Her first as­sign­ment was to Tan­za­nia in 1960, where she served for 7 years in a num­ber of mis­sion hospi­tals. She also served for 5 years in Malawi and for about 10 years in Kenya.

Sr. Mar­ion did mis­sion aware­ness work in Ire­land. She worked in the theatre and as night su­per­in­ten­dent in the hos­pi­tal in Drogheda and as a pub­lic health nurse in Dublin and Clon­mel . She also helped in Rosedale cen­tre for the el­derly in Kil­ma­cow, Co. Kilkenny.

In 1991 Sr. Mar­ion Therese re­turned to the Mother­house in Drogheda. She helped in the in­fir­mary and in 1995 be­gan a min­istry as a chi­ropodist.

She moved to the nurs­ing fa­cil­ity, Áras Mhuire in Au­gust 2015 and died there peace­fully on 29 De­cem­ber 2018.
