Ardee Cycling Club host Couch to 50k

ANYONE thinking of getting on the bike and getting fit in 2019?

Ardee Cycling Club Couch to 50km is starting in April, with an info night at the end of March.

It runs for around 8-10 weeks but last year the group didn’t want to stop. In July they did their first 79km on the East Meath spin....one man went a wee bit further Jim Gavin who is 78 did his first 100k that day.

The club say well done to Tomas McCabe, Tony Keane and Claire Ludlow who took part in Cuchulainn CC New Years Eve TT. Tomas was 3rd overall and Claire winning the ladies prize.

Glyde Inn events

THE Glyde Inn - Ireland’s top pub - is hosting a number of great events in the coming weeks and months.

January 26th: Comedy Night with Farmer Michael & Kathleen. Tickets €25.

March 1st: The Legend of Luke Kelly Show with Chris Kavanagh & Band. Tickets €25.

Ardee Celtic girls

Ardee Celtic are looking to expand their Girls Only Soccer section.

With an All Girls Louth League to be introduced in 2019 at age groups from u8 u10 & u12 they are currently recruiting players born in 2007 to 2012 .

This will add to their already ever growing and successful girls squads at u13 and u15. If interested, contact 086 371 4008 .

Ardee Traders night out

The countdown is on for the Ardee Traders Dinner Dance in Brian Muldoon & Sons Bar & Restaurant on Saturday January 12.

The group will have exclusive use of the venue for the night and the newly refurbishe­d Luna Nightclub is also exclusivel­y their for the afters, so there will be lots of room for dancing. The Band and DJ (ODDTIME) are booked and tickets are priced at €35.

As usual, it promises to be a great night.

Lannleire wants to get you fit

LANNLEIRE GFC wants to get you fit and healthy again. January marks the start of RTE’s Operation Transforma­tion and as part of the launch Louth Local Sports Partnershi­p and Lann Léire are working together to organise an OT walk at the pitch. Anyone interested in joining in come up come along. All starts Saturday 12th at 11am.
