IMAGES FROM TIMES PAST
An exhibition of photographs chronicling some well-known individuals from the town will open in The Tholsel on Thursday 17 January 2019 at noon.
‘ These photos are a personal collection of Drogheda characters that I built up over the years,’ said Mayor Frank Godfrey.
‘ These people may be gone but they’re not forgotten.’
The 300-or so photos include Shoe Shoe Duff, Eamon Briscoe the Singing Barber, farmer Francie Harty, Paddy Woods and Dominic Dennis, to name but a few of the many that the mayor has secured down the years..
Local historian Liam Reilly will give a talk on some of those photographed and on the times they lived in.
It should make for a very interesting discussion
All welcome to come along and enjoy a great journey down memory lane.
