THE lotto is back on tonight after the Christmas break, and it is well worth playing. Also tonight is the first committee meeting of the year. A discussion will take place on a motion on club football, which has been forwarded to the County Board for consideration this month. All members are asked to attend.

KILKERLEY EMMETS
JANUARY marks the start of RTE’s Operation Transformation and as part of the launch Louth Local Sports Partnership are looking to involve local GAA clubs, so Kilkerley Emmets are hosting a walk this Saturday, January 12, at 11am on the walking track around the club grounds. For health and safety reasons no dogs allowed in the grounds or on the walking track.
The GAA National Club Draw tickets are on sale. Prizes include holidays, car, All Ireland Final tickets, vouchers. All proceeds from sales go to club funds. Tickets on sale from any committee member. Priced €10. Membership fees for 2019 are now due and can be submitted at a registration night in the Community Centre on Friday, January 25, from 7.30pm.
MILLMOUNTHANDBALL
THE club will hold a committee meeting on Wednesday 16th January at 7pm in the pheasant function room all delegates and players are requested to attend.
The lucky winner of our €50 club lottery bonus ball draw last week was Deborah Mullan. Well done to young clubman Nathan Farrelly on winning our juvenile top ace score competition last week with a fantastic top score of 15 aces.
Club membership is now due adult fees €40, juvenile fees €10 Membership forms are available at Coke hall reception and also from our club secretary.
We are seeking new members at the club if you are up for the challenge of playing handball or would like to play to keep fit come along and register at coke hall reception.
The Leinster GAA Handball convention takes place next Sunday 13th January at the Courtyard hotel Lexlip Co Kildare.
Club players wishing to purchase new handball gear for their training can do so by contacting our club secretary. Our club fundraising clothing appeal is going very well if you have any unwanted coats, belts, handbag, shoes, shirts etc please bring them along to coke community hall reception or you can contact Maria on 0879821595 to arrange for collection thank you.
Players, parents and supporters should please note that there will be no handball training in st Mary’s diocesan school until further notice. Our juvenile coaching continues every Friday night for boys and girls.

HAPPY New Year to all Naomh Fionnbarra & St Anne’s players, members, supporters and friends! Hopefully 2019 will be a good one.
Club stalwart Martin O’Neill is running an accumulator fundraiser for the Barrs players for this coming season. It’s only a tenner to enter and the prize is €500 for the winner - certainly a nice present in the run-up to next Christmas. Have a look at the pics on Facebook and let him know if you’re interested. It’s fairly self-explanatory, but if you have any questions ask away.
Also, if anyone would like to share this and/or tag any sports fans, please work away. The closing date is January 11th and hard copies of forms are available as well.
At a recent executive meeting, long-serving member Mary Connor was added to our list of Honoury Presidents in recognition of her outstanding work for camogie over a long number of years. As the club, along with the Ladies and St Anne’s, have embraced the one-club module, it is fitting that an appointment as such should take place.
Supporters of the club can buy club gear directly from the O’Neill’s website. There are some new items available online.
The club would like to express our deepest sympathy to the families of Gerry Halpenny, 10 An Rian, Annagassan; and Eileen O’Friel, Tullydonnell who passed away recently. Gerry brought many juveniles on his minibus to games over the years and he was a complete gentleman. Both of Eileen’s sons won minor championships with the club. Jimmy was wearing no 12 for Sean Treasaighs/Baile Philip when they beat Naomh Buithe in the 1982 final in Drogheda, while Brendan was wearing no 2 for Sean Treasaighs when they beat Naomh Buithe in the 1985 final in St Brigid’s Park Dundalk. May they Rest in Peace.
NAOMH MONINNE
THE club will hold their AGM this coming Friday night January 11 in the Dowdallshill clubrooms at 7.30pm.
There was deep shock among club members before Christmas with news of the sudden death of ex club stalwart Aidan Kerrigan on December 23. Aidan captured multiple championship titles with Naomh Moninne before going on to be a co-founder of Knockbridge HC. Our sympathy goes out to his wife Mairead, daughter Michelle and sons Conor, Shane and Gavin.
The club also sympathise with past Chairman and senior manager Kieran Somers on the recent death of his mother Mary (Knockcroghery, Roscommon) on December 28.
On the same morning news also broke of the death of Margaret Brady mother of recent senior team manager Brian and ex player Paddy. Our condolences go out to both families.
The Louth senior hurlers qualified for the final of the Kehoe Shield with a 0-18 to 0-14 victory over Longford at Pearse Park on Saturday. The Moninne players that featured on the day were Donal Connolly (GK), Darren Geoghegan (0-5) and substitutes Darren O Hanrahan and Mattie Fee. Louth will take on DCU St Patrick’s next weekend.
Juvenile indoor training for juveniles will recommence at the DKIT Indoor Centre on Saturday January 26.
The Ulster Gaa Winter Indoor Hurling Blitz Programme for U7, U9, U11 age groups commences again over the coming weeks at the DKIT Centre on Sunday mornings from 10am to 12noon. It starts up with the U7’s this coming Sunday morning January 13.
The club are on the look out for a new senior team manager after Brian Brady stepped down recently.
