Harte’s pace is the key as Boyne see off Mourne men

BOYNE Rovers over 35’s got back to winning ways and gave their league title chances a boost with a good win over Mourne Celtic at Brickfield Park last Saturday.

Rovers went on the attack from the start and Pat Harte (pictured) broke through the Mourne defence before picking out Pat Downey who found the net with a blistering shot.

Although Mourne drew level, it was Harte’s pace which was causing the problems and he swiftly broke through on two occasions to give his side a 3-1 lead at the break.

Rovers dominated the second half and Joey Rock hit the fourth. Peter McCann and Ivan Harper kept the former Shelbourne star John Delamere very quiet.
