PREZZIE WITH A DIFFERENCE.

Are you looking for a New Year’s present with a difference?

Why not sponsor a tree for someone special and give them a lifelong gift.

As you may know, the Monasterboice Tourism & Tidy Towns Group has started work on two Pollintor Parks on the R132 in the Monasterboice area. In order to help fund the project they are looking for people to sponsor a tree for the cost of €50. Each tree will have a plaque bearing the name of a person, family, business or In memory of.... Certificates can be given if required.

If you would like to sponsor a tree, please contact monasterboicetourism@ or call Kathryn on 0830562641. They are also asking people from the area to come forward with any ideas they might have as we will be preparing to put together a 5 year plan.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Mrs Nuala Early, late of Drogheda, who recently passed away. Nula was a formidable lady and was well known across the north-east district and indeed far beyond for her role on social issues. Her grandmother, Kate Grogan, nee Keegan, had originally come from the Stedalt and Tullog area of Stamullen and where there are members of this family laid to rest in the village graveyard. Nula`s father was Thomas Grogan, who had played an instrumental role in the Irish War of Independence and later on as a leading member Of the old Irish Republican Army during the 1930`s and 40`s. Following funeral mass at St. Peter`s Church in West Street Drogheda, Mrs Early was laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery Drogheda.
