THE Duleek and District AC 5k road race takes place on Sunday February 24 at 1pm.

RAPE CRISIS TRAINING

Rape Crisis North East is offering you the opportunit­y to attend a Helpline Training Programme which will commence on Wednesday 6th February 2019 and finish on Friday 14th March 2019.

The training is free and in return, they will ask you to commit to four hours of your time per week to provide telephone counsellin­g support to survivors of rape and sexual violence. Venue: Cherrywood Counsellin­g Centre, Great Northern Distillery Offices, Carrick Road, Dundalk. 12 Day Workshops over 6 Weeks ( Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am to 4.00pm).

RCNE Helpline Service is a “lifeline” for many victims of rape and sexual abuse who need to talk to someone who cares. All telephone volunteers are trained to listen, support and offer informatio­n and counsellin­g support to callers who use the line.

IRISH CHAT IN ARDEE

The Irish language conversati­on group which meets in Full of Beans Cafe, Ashwalk, Ardee (opposite Super Valu) is inviting new members to join them every Thursday morning at 10.45 a.m. to practise speaking Irish in an informal setting.

As well as general conversati­on, the group focuses on a different topic each week and participan­ts get a list of sample sentences to bring home with them, some popular Irish songs are also included.
