Quinn’s dash from Donegal
THE long journey to Ballinabrackey on a frosty Sunday morning proved worthwhile for Rathkenny as they picked up their second win of the Division 2 campaign.
Meath panellist Danny Quinn made it home from Ballybofey in time for the match and accounted for four points for the home side. It was Rathkenny, though, who held the upper hand for long spells and at half-time they enjoyed a 1-4 to 0-2 lead.
The goal arrived from Brian Meade after 16 minutes and Jack Thompson, Jeaic Timmons, Keith Curtis (free) and Andrew Bellew contributed the points in

that first half. Quinn accounted for both of the hosts’ scores.
The Ballinabrackey performance improved in the third quarter and they narrowed the deficit with three successive points. However, that was the closest they got as Rathkenny hit back with a Jack Thompson goal to regain the initiative. They strengthened their grip with further points from Curtis, Meade and James Macken.
