T’feckin Greatest Show from Macra does us proud in final

Termonfeck­in Macra flew the flag for Louth amongst the final six of Macra’s FBD Capers National Finals.

The competitio­n was held in the WIT Arena in Waterford on February 2nd, and even though the competitio­n was eventually won by Clonakilty Macra from Cork, the local group represente­d the wee county with pride and passion. Dubbed ‘ T’feckin Greatest Show’, their performanc­e was well-received and cast and crew had a fantastic evening. They included Eamon Briscoe, Sarah Clutterbuc­k, Susie Keogh, Mary Marry, Sinéad Mathews, Aoife McEvoy, Eamonn McQuillan, Ciara Neasy, Sinéad O’Callaghan, Helena Reynolds on stage, producer Máire Leech, Caoimhe Leech on sound, lighting by John Leech and backstage crew Kevin Stapleton.

‘ This was a fantastic night’s entertainm­ent and a fitting way to begin our 75th anniversar­y celebratio­ns which will continue throughout the year, said Macra na Feirme National President James Healy. “Congratula­tions to our six finalists for the brilliant entertainm­ent they provided on the night.”

Clonakilty held off stiff competitio­n from Mountmelli­ck on the night and Enfield Macra, Meath who placed third.

FBD Capers is a competitio­n designed for clubs wishing to gain experience in producing and performing a light entertainm­ent variety show, with performanc­es ranging from singing and dancing to comedy and drama.
