TULLYALLEN’S GOT TALENT!

LOCAL SCHOOL PROVES TO BE A HOTBED OF TOP CLASS PERFORMING TALENT AS HUGE NUMBER OF ACTS TAKE TO THE STAGE AT THE TLT

- By HUBERT MURPHY

IT WAS certainly a night when the stars came out at the TLT.

The first quarter-final saw 20 acts battle it out for 10 spots and the competition was intense and more than one or two will be hoping to get a wildcard entry to the semi-finals.

Tullyallen National School certainly enjoyed the night and overall, they were stunning. Not only had they two choirs - junior and senior - but a number of individuals danced, sang and performed to a very high standard. Whoever the music teacher is - they are doing a cracking job!

With judges Derek Eakins and Theresa McKenna in the hotseats, the night began with the dynamic junior choir from Tullyallen and they were sensational.

Kate Skelton from Bohermeen silenced the place with her rendition of ‘Grace’ before Mia Galvin gave another great performance.

‘We have found a star here!,’ was the comment by Theresa after rapper Trevor Chibambo Nbaombwa finished, while Charlie McCullen from Stamullen NS was another man destined for the stage.

Superb singing and dancing was the hallmark of Code Three while the Lightning Vibe were also all action.

‘Little Mix watch out!, was Theresa’s view after watching The Independents and Ballymakenny’s Daria McKenna followed up with the Riptide.

The musical stage talents of Nikita Stanley were very obvious while the Greatest Showman was again the theme of the Tullyallen senior choir’s classic performance.

The Callystown ‘ Unstoppables’ brought energy to the stage according to judge Derek Eakins, while Kleopatra Bruno produced another musical masterclass, as did Cara Galvin.

Alexandra Ghelbere had them ‘swinging from the chandeliers’ with an all action dance routine and Orla McDermott from Scoil Aonghusa was faultless with a Cranberries special.

The final four equally excelled, from Ella Rooney’s poise on the violin, to the remarkable Clodagh Halpin, the Super Trio and Elizabeth McMahon.

The judges and audience qualifiers from the first quarter finals were: Kate Skelton, Tullyallen Junior Choir, Nikita Stanley , Trevor Chibambo Nbaombwa, Alexandra Ghelbere, Code Three, Orla Mc Dermott , The Lightning Vibe, Elizabeth Mc Mahon and the Tullyallen Senior Choir.

The second quarter final was on Wednesday night and there was another great line up of acts from the entire region.

2nd qualifiers: COPE, Joy Chucks, Saoirse Rae Brannigan, Sarah Woulfe, The Unpredictables, Aoidhri Mc Groddy, Jamie Reilly Leviosa, Grace Looney, Liam Murray
