It’s three in a row for in-form Rathkenny

RATHKENNY MEATH HILL 0-9 0-7

RATHKENNY laid the foundations for their third win on the trot when wind-assisted in the opening half of this Division 2 tie.

The home side were well on top in the half and at the break enjoyed a 0-7 to 0-1 lead. Brian Lenehan converted two 45s in the half, while defenders Stephen Crosbie and Thomas McGuinness were also on the mark.

Meath Hill found it a little easier to get scores in the second half, but it was only in the closing stages that the Rathkenny lead came under threat.

Lenehan pointed a free early in the second half for the eventual winners and their only other point, a fisted effort from Keith Timmons, left it 0-9 to 0-5 after 52 minutes.

The ‘Hill hit the last two points, but it wasn’t enough to preserve their unbeaten run.
