Chord needs mains action

-

IRISH Water are to be contacted about the decommissioning of the old sewage mains at the rear of homes on the Chord Road.

Cllr Pio Smith (right) said there had been some leakage from the pipes in the last three to four months, and this was coming after works were carried out on the main road.

He also said there was an issue with leaking sewerage at College Rise, with three instances since mid December.

Clllr Kevin Callan also raised the matter of low water pressure at Newfoundwell and on to Termonfeckin.

It was revealed a number of leaks had been detected and repaired but a number more had to be looked at.

Cllr Paul Bell also asked for the water to be turned off at a house in Bolton Square. ‘Water is flowing out of the house as it’s been abandoned. We need to turn the water off as it’s impacting on neighbours,’ he stated
