Bad driving case rather than issue at Sunday’s Gate

-

BAD driving - rather than issues with the turn - is how Louth CC describe a recent incident at Sunday’s Gate, that saw a lorry crash into protective railings on a footpath.

Clr Frank Godfrey said he was in Geraldine’s hair salon on the day when the incident happened.

‘It was lucky there was no-one on the path,’ he stated. ‘ There is still port traffic using these routes and drivers are not familiar with the streets. There is a big problem at Sunday’s Gate,’ he stated.

Engineer Mark Johnson said he was not sure if it was a design fault with the railings or just a case of bad driving.
