ONE of Ireland’s leading entrepreneurs will headline Local Enterprise Week Louth 2019. Martin McVicar, founder of CombiLift will deliver the keynote address at “Making It Happen”, the event to launch Local Enterprise Week in The Mill Enterprise Hub, Drogheda on Monday 4th March.

Head of Enterprise Thomas McEvoy explains “This year we celebrate 5 years of The Mill Enterprise Hub supporting entrepreneurs and enterprise across the North East. The Mill is so much more than an Enterprise Centre. It truly is a hub of enterprise, reaching far beyond the building into the community at large. The Mill represents all that is good in enterprise in Louth and it was fitting that it should play host to the launch event for Local Enterprise Week.”

Manager of The Mill, Breanndan Casey continues “In planning this event, we wanted to tell the stories of local entrepreneurs and the lessons that they’ve learned along the way. We selected speakers who had worked with us at The Mill including Graham O’Rourke of Aphix Software, Bronagh Conlon of Listoke Distillery and Bridget Kerrigan of BAM Media. We also looked to entrepreneurs and business people who are leading their industries across the region and are delighted to welcome Alison Cowzer of East Coast Bakehouse and Peter Rowan of Yapstone.”

Speaking about the keynote speaker Martin McVicar, Breanndan continued “We want “Making It Happen” to provide insight and inspiration for entrepreneurs across the region. And no one fits the bill better than Martin McVicar, founder of Combilift. The company is one of Ireland’s most innovative and successful enterprises exporting to 85 countries and employing more than 600 staff. An EY Entrepreneur of the Year, Martin’s experience and expertise is bound to provide valuable insights for business owners at all stages and sizes.”

In addition to these guest speakers, a selection of state agencies will deliver quick fire pitches, outlining the supports they offer to business and will be available to talk to business owners one-to-one during refreshment breaks and lunch.

With Padraic Kierans of Anglo Printers as MC, this dynamic event will provide great opportunities for networking and learning. Running from 9.30am to 1.30pm (including lunch) this event is free of charge and all are welcome. However places are strictly limited and early booking is advised.
