Public meeting about power plant
DULEEK And District Environmental Group are to hold a public meeting in the coming weeks in relation to a proposal for an electricity plant at Carranstown.
‘It will mean more environmental challenges for this area, nothing amazing about that now, this area seems to have been designated a heavy industrial zone, suitable for all these heavy industries that nobody else wants,’ a spokesperson stated.
They say there are a number of issues in relation to the project that they plan to highlight, including how it’s powered and the use of water from the mains supply.
Other usual issues around these sort of plants include air and noise emissions, heavy traffic supply and emissions,’ they add.
‘Remember emissions from all these plants go everywhere, including Drogheda, North Louth, East Coast, Kentstown, Time to be aware, time to get your submissions, observations, objections etc in to appropriate authorities soon as possible.’
