Jamie sets the tone

WOLFE TONES ST NICHOLAS 1-6 0-6

A goal from Jamie McCormack proved decisive as Wolfe Tones came out on top in this well-contested derby on Sunday morning.

St Nicholas started the brighter team despite playing against a strong breeze in Jimmy Pentony Park but they were left to rue a series of wides they kicked throughout the game.

Tones however, who had 28 players eager to take part, were able to make changes using their deep bench. Ultimately the substitutes helped them finish the game strongly with scores from Jamie McCormack and Gareth Cooney. The game’s turning point was a great individual goal by Jamie McCormack.
