HE’S seen brothers Killian and Gavin retire from League of Ireland football in recent months, but Sean Brennan isn’t ready to hang up his boots yet and he’ll wear the captain’s armband for Friday’s clash with Cobh Ramblers.

The 33-year-old midfielder is embarking on his fifth consecutiv­e campaign at United Park after his best-ever return of 12 goals from 26 starts in 2018, and he’s clearly hungry for more.

‘Pre-season has been good, there’s a good, positive mindset already and I’m raring to go for Friday,’ he responded when asked whether the body and mind were both in great shape.

‘I always enjoy the training. I think that’s the best part of it, to be honest. It’s getting out on the pitch and having a bit of craic every week with the lads and in the dressing-room.
