McKenna Ltd opens up

ON Friday, April 28,1989 Senator Jimmy Mulroy, Mayor of Drogheda was on hand to open the brand new premises of John F. McKenna (Ireland) Limited, suppliers to the Mushroom Industry.

The recent expansion in the industry has manifested itself both North and South of the border. Prosperiti­es to both economies are evident in the massive investment pattern emerging throughout the country.

J.F. McKenna Ltd. is primarily based in Armagh and are the largest manufactur­ers of packaging to the industry in Ireland. They have recently doubled their capacity to injection mould their new plastic pack and already command a sizeable proportion of the English market for the traditiona­l cardboard pack.

The firm also supply and erect the new highly acclaimed, French polythene tunnels from Richel, and can provide the latest in heating, cooling and ventilatio­n systems.

Mr. McKenna has indicated that they intend to invest substantia­lly in the on-going manufactur­e and developmen­t of new products to suit the exact requiremen­ts of the market’s growing needs. The company’s commitment has been re-asserted upon the completion of it’s impressive new Drogheda complex.
